Stand Up for Towel Day
Towel Day is an annual celebration on the 25th of May, as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams (1952-2001). On that day, fans around the universe carry a towel in his honour.
Stand Up for Towel Day is a stand up comedy gig on the evening of towel day, where Douglas Adams fans can bring their towels for a refreshing glass of Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, and chill with other hoopy folk whilst watching a bunch of comedians perform stand up comedy sets written especially for the event.
Level Up Human
I have a podcast called Level Up Human. It’s a comedy science panel show about the future of humanity. You can find out more at leveluphuman.com.
It’s hosted by evolutionary revolutionary Simon Watt of TV, radio and Ugly Animal Preservation Society fame, and we’re fresh from a UK tour including shows at the Science Museum, Imperial College, Cheltenham Science Festival, Glastonbury, Latitude, Wilderness and Green Man festivals.
Our judges have included Robert Llewellyn, Hugh Dennis, Ellie Taylor, Holly Walsh and Danielle Ward and we have more shows in the pipeline. Have a listen:
What is the shelf life of an idea? Dead Talks is a lot like TED talks, but all the ideas are rubbish. Not just the TEDx ones about cat yoga.
Dead Talks celebrates the laughable and ludicrous ideas of the past. Discover why plague suits actually worked, how to store a substance that can dissolve anything and if electricity could be the essence of life.
Join us as we consider the notions that have fallen by the wayside of science, history and fringe thought. Because one day, your ideas might be there too.
Comedy at the Wheatsheaf
Comedy at the Wheatsheaf is a monthly comedy night at the Wheatsheaf, Tooting Bec.
Nicola Houghton and I gig all around the UK every year. We bring back the cream of the comedy crop to entertain the good people of Tooting, in the luxurious upstairs at the Wheatsheaf with a late licence and its own bar!
